wedding!

yeah....so...um.....I'm married now :)
So many exciting things have happened, and I just want to share them with everyone! Unfortunately.....wedding pictures aren't in my grasp yet, so you'll have to wait for pictures! I promise I will upload soon though!

So...the wedding day:
The day started REALLY early. Like 1:30 am when my dad came down to my room and woke me up. He said, "Dani, Sarah Winkelkotter (a neighbor) said she saw two men with flashlights get in your car (Technically Tyler's car) and she called the police. The police are outside and want to talk to you." My heart was pounding so fast! I ran outside and the police asked me to look and see if anything got stolen....I started looking and everything looked pretty normal....the only thing that looked out of place was that there were a few carl's jr. coupons thrown on the passenger seat, and I knew for a fact I didn't leave them that way. So I told them I don't think anything got stolen, but I called Tyler just to make sure. After I explained the situation to Tyler he finally said, "Dani, my ipod was in there. In the middle console." are you sure!!?? yes. UGGHHH. NO IPOD. Those stupid criminals! I was soooo mad! I was so mad at myself for leaving the doors unlocked! It was an accident :( Fortunately, Tyler was very understanding and wasn't rude or made at me one bit! I love him!
So then I went back to bed....and lets just say I didn't get much sleep that night.I had to be at Kami's house at 7:30 am for HAIR! She did such a wonderful job and I loved it! Then at 9:30 Andrea came over and did my make up, which also turned out beautiful! Then me, my mom, and my grandpa dashed off to the luncheon early so that we could help set up and so that my grandpa could take some pictures of me and Tyler before the guests arrived. The luncheon was so wonderful. It was beautiful and the food was delicious! Our closest friends and family came and spent the morning with us :) Then me and Tyler and my mom had to hurry to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple. The time FLEW by and before we knew it we were walking into the sealing room hand in hand. It was so breathtaking. It was amazing to walk into the room full of our loved ones whom all had a smile on their face.
Tyler will probably kill me for telling you all, but I think personally think it is HILARIOUS! As we walked into the sealing room Tyler stepped on the back of my dress (it was bustled, but it was still too long without my high heels and my poofy slip on) and the bustle RIPPED out! hahaha....everyone laughed. Poor Tyler! Brother Flade from my old ward was our sealer and it was beautiful. He did SUCH a good job :)
And then....we came out of the temple.....took a million pictures :) you know how it goes....
then we went straight to Noah's!! When I walked in I was SHOCKED. It was soooo beautiful!! Tyler's grandma, Carol and aunt, Carrie were in charge of the decorations and the centerpieces and they seriously turned out so so so beautiful. I could not have asked for a better wedding day. The reception was really good :) It was good to see old family and friends and everything just turned out so wonderful! Tyler and I left in our very tastefully decorated car and drove like 4 minutes to our nearby hotel :)

The next morning we left for Vegas!! 4 hours to St. George were we stopped for lunch, then 2 more hours to Vegas were we got to our hotel, the Luxor! (the pyramid on the strip) It was WAY cool! Long story short, we spent the afternoon and evening wondering up and down the strip and ended up eating dinner at Denny's....hahahaha. oh what great memories. Me and Tyler have come to the conclusion that we're not exactly "cut-out" for Vegas. The next morning we left early and headed to Garden Grove California! It was only about a 4 hour drive, so it wasn't too bad :) Once in California we went to the pool and soaked up a few rays :) and then we went to dinner.... Th next day we went to California Adventure and Disneyland! And then again the next day! That night we went to a fancy dinner at the Cheesecake factory, which was delicious! The next day we got to sleep in and then we drove to Seal Beach! It was really pretty and we ate subway on the sand! It was overcast that day, so it wasn't very hot and sunny, but we still had a lot of fun. Especially Tyler, whom spent quite a while body surfing in the waves. We then drove around for a bit, and then went back to our hotel, showered, started packing, and then we went to DQ for a YUMMY treat! The next morning we left early and drove 6 hours to St. George and had lunch at Cafe Rio! We got to stop and visit with my old friends from South Jordan and then we were back on the road! We made it back to my parent's house at about 7:30 pm. Tyler's parents came over and we opened all our presents! We felt sooo spoiled! Thank you to everyone!!! Later that night we found out that Tyler's dad's boss wanted us to go pick out a new refrigerator for his wedding gift. We were sooo excited!! On our way back up to Logan we stopped in Bountiful at the appliance store and picked out a BEAUTIFUL new sided-by-side stainless steel fridge and they said it would be delivered the next day at 3! Sure enough, it is now standing proudly in our kitchen, and we LOVE it! Seriously, we got spoiled rotten, and we couldn't be more thankful!
Tyler and I have been happily married now for 9 days :)

.paint.

Today has been a good day.....It actually started last night when I went to bed at 10:00 pm and then got to sleep until 8:00 am. Oh it was so wonderful! And then I woke up and went to my home to be (in exactly 2 weeks!!!) and me and my hubby to be (in exactly 2 weeks!!!) started prep work for painting our office! We masked everything, cleaned the baseboards, and layed down plastic on the carpet (good thing we did!). Then I painted all the baseboards and molding and window!!! And Tyler painted the ceiling!!! yayayaya!!!! We now have white baseboards and a white ceiling in our office!! Now just our bedroom, bathroom, hallway, family room, kitchen and entry way to go.......
Who paints the ceiling, baseboards and walls ALL the same color TAN??? Talk about LAZY people!!
It was fun making memories with Tyler though :) Painting together for the first time!! AH :) I was laughing to myself the whole time because me and Tyler....well apparently we're not the best painters in the world. It was HARD! haha. I kept tellin Tyler I could see us 20 years from now telling our kids,
"When mom and dad painted together for the first time we struggled a little. every five minutes your dad would say "ugh!" "grrr....." "oh my he**" "dang!" as he would get white paint in the WRONG places! and mom had to run to the bathroom every five minutes to wash her hands because she couldn't get paint on her fresh acrylic nails..." OH that will be fun :)

I love Tyler Simonsen.... yes I do. I can't wait to marry him and start our life together!!
14 days!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Just a thought:
I heard this song this morning and was inspired.
Live like you're dying by Lenka-

One of these days you’ll be

under the covers you’ll be
under the table and you’ll realize
all of your days are numbered;
all of them one to one hundred.
All of them millions.
All of them trillions.
So what are you gonna do with them all?
You can not trade them in for mall.
no no

Take every moment; you know that you own them.
It’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you.

Give me a reason
to fight the feeling
that there’s nothing here for me.
Cause none of its easy,
I know it wasn’t meant to be.
I know it’s all up to me x2.
So what am I gonna do with my time?
oh

Ill take every moment, I know that I own them.
It’s all up to you to do whatever you choose.

Live like you’re dying and never stop trying.
It’s all you can do, use what’s been given to you.

All of the moments you didn’t notice;
gone in the blink of an eye.
All of the feelings you couldn’t feel
no matter how you try.
oh oh

I challenge everyone to think about these lyrics.
"All of the moments you didn't notice;
gone in a blink of an eye.
All of the feelings you couldn't feel
no matter how you try."

let's not let this happen to us.....

....letter.....

Dear Spring semester,

When you first started I thought I'd like you,
I thought that you might be fun...
New apartment.....
New friends.......
More time with my boy.....
Well, it turns out that not matter how fun all the other stuff is,
the school part of it all = no fun.

You have been kickin' my butt for the past four months..
and my butt is now currently very much bruised.
I'm tired, and I'm sick of you.
You're no longer welcome in my life,
so if you'd please leave, that'd be real great.
Thanks.

Despite all of this....
there has been some good come out of this semester.
In fact, some GREAT has come out of this semester....
let me tell you about some of those things:
1. I met new friends :)
2. I've had a much nicer place to live.
3. I fell even more heels over head in love.
4. I got engaged! :) :) <3
5. More stuff that I just can't think of at the moment because
as soon as I think about being engaged I loose all other train of thought.....

So what was I talking about? hehe.

Oh yeah I remember......
Spring semester, I don't like you anymore....
I'll see you next year....

Love,
Dani

!@#$%^&*()_+

It's hot......in my bedroom. Holy.
I left my bedroom at 8:45 am this morning, and hadn't been
back until about 1/2 an hour ago.
When I opened my door it was like a rush of HOT air.
And now I'm sitting on my bed in as little clothes as possible with both
of my windows open....but it doesn't seem to be cooling down any...
It's gonna be a long night if I can't cool down!

I shouldn't complain though, because today was such a beautiful day!!
When I drove to work at noon the bank said it was 80 degrees!
Holy-ba-joly!!
No matter what's goin on in my life, not matter how stressed
I am, no matter how upset I am at someone, there's just something about
the sun shining and the 80 degree weather during the first few days of spring
that just brings a giant smile to my face. :) I love it, how could anyone not??

I miss you Tyler.....even though I saw him like 5 hours ago...
but I won't get too see him till tomorrow night after work. Sad day.
He's in Sandy right now with his familia.
Justin got set-apart tonight. Congrats Justin!
He's officially a missionary now!! He leaves for the MTC tomorrow,
ready to prepare to teach the people of Hamburg, Germany.
His farewell was on Sunday, and he gave a great talk.
See you in two years Justin! When you get back, we'll be brother/sister!!
......weird.......but EXCITING.......

I need to write my Business Law ethics essay.....
BLAH...
I cannot wait for this semester to be done!
woo.

P.S. 6 weeks from today I will be Danielle Simonsen!! :) :)

spring!

Can it be true?? can it REALLY be SPRING?? my heart is happy at the weather today... I rode my bike to work for the first time this year. :) it was very relaxing... i've been extremely stressed out because of school this week....and riding my bike really helped my mind escape for a few minutes. there's just something about riding your bike on the first real day of good weather with your hair blowing in the wind....and GLEE playing in your ear :) AH, just brings a smile to my face.

today is just a happy day. i had a marketing test this morning (which wasn't happy) and even though I didn't get a great score, it was my best test score out of the three tests we've taken in that class so far this semester. and then I had accounting (which also not happy) which we did a test review (tests are not happy) BUT i felt like i knew how to do most questions on the review (happy)! and trust me, this was a first. normally i'm lucky if i know how to do a single problem... and then i got to lay on the couch at my apartment for a little while before work. that was real nice :)

goals for this weekend:
1. FINISH designing wedding invitation and ORDER them.
2. Eat at Zupa's.
3. Study REAL hard for my accounting test.
4. Make GOOD progress on my ethics essay for business law.

Bed Bugs...

So a few days ago I woke up with a mysterious red bump on my arm... I wasn't sure what it was, but it didn't itch so i didn't worry about it. The next morning I woke up and there were three huge blisters on top of the red bump...very strange. So I asked my dad what he thought it was and he said, "It looks like poison oak. Have you been in any bushes or trees lately?" um...no! I have not been playing in bushes lately?? So then he said, "It also looks like a burn. Did you burn yourself?" no, not that I had remembered...maybe I burned it on my straightner, but just didn't notice? "Dani, that looks bad enough to be a third degree burn. You'd remember if you burned yourself." well....I don't remember burning myself, so that's not it... What could it be?? We had no more guesses. So I put a bandaide over it and forgot about it for a few days. When I took the bandaide off the blisters had mostly popped and were starting to scab over...When I got to work yesterday my boss said, "What is that on your arm!? It looks like melanoma!" okay, that sorta freaked me out! but he went on to explain that when you get tested for melanoma they poke ya with something that has three points on it and if you test positive the injection sites blister and scab like that. but the good news is, I didn't get tested, so that means I most likely don't have melanoma......but then he got a worried look on his face and said, "I have an idea of what that could be....but I'm not sure I want to tell you...." well if you know then tell me!! "Are you sure you wanna know?" yes...... "Okay, so I don't want to scare you, but it actually looks like bed bug bites. They start out as little, but every night they keep biting you more and more and you end up with blistery rashes all over you body. Also, they come out the most between 3 and 4 am" oh my gosh! are you kidding me?? That's disgusting!! What should I do??? "You need to look on your sheets for little blue stains. They're pretty small, but not microscopic. And then look underneath your bed really good for any webs with tiny blue bugs." oh my gosh!!!!!!!! I am never going to be able to sleep in my bed again!! Thanks a lot Mitch!! you have totally freaked me out......ugh.

So I go on throughout the day until it's bed time...Before I crawl into my bed I inspect every inch looking for little blue circles and webs underneath. nothing....so I convince myself I don't have bed bugs and fall asleep....Well once I fall asleep I start dreaming. I dream that I am inspecting my sheets and find blue stains all over them! and I look under my bed and it's covered with webs full of little blue bugs!! And then they're crawling all over me and I start itching and ugh....it was terrible. Then I woke up and looked at the clock....3:35 am.....great......by now i am terrified and am completely convinced that I have bed bugs crawling all over me and am itching like crazy...... After at least an hour of squirming and scratching I finally fell asleep...

And guess what the first thing I did when i woke up this morning was? I stripped my bed and threw my sheets in the washer. Goodbye bed bugs!

.hello.

wow. i'm not very good at blogging apparently. BUT, I'm gonna do better now.... cause i've been reading other people's blogs lately and some of them are so amazing. I'm jealous.

Updates...
I'm engaged! :) Tyler proposed on March 11, 2010 at the Capital Building in downtown Salt Lake City. I loved loved loved the way that he did it....so cute and sooo creative. and it was a total surprise which made it even more amazing. we are getting married on june 1st in the oquirrh mountain temple, and i could not be more excited. as we are preparing and planning everything my love for him grows every second. i can't help but smile when i look at him and i want to spend every possible second with him. i love tyler because he makes me want to be a better person. he makes me want to be more loving, more caring, better in school, and stronger spiritually. it's amazing how someone can open your eyes and make you want to be better in every way. i'm so happy right now, and i know it's only UPhill from here.

easter this year was bitter sweet. i got my wisdom teeth out on the 2nd of april, so it was a somewhat miserable weekend, but it was also great because most of my family was all together and i got babied :) haha. my family treated me great and let me whine and mope for a few days. on sunday tyler's family came to eat dinner with my family at my house. it was the first time they all got to meet, so i was a little nervous, but it turned out great i think! my mom put together a delicious meal (as always) and i think everyone got along great!

school is definitely starting to drag...and i think we're all just trying to hang in there and not catch the 'spring fever'. finals are approaching and i'm getting nervous! it's crunch time, and i need to pull out strong! my classes are hard, but i think most people think that. i'm sure i don't have it harder than anyone else, but it's still a challenge. waking up in the morning is getting harder and harder everyday.....getting yourself to class is a definite battle. exactly one month from today is the last day of finals! woooo!

once finals are done i'll have almost a full month to pull all the strings together and finalize everything for the wedding. may will be a busy month, but that's good because time will fly and we won't have any time to get impatient! christie christensen is taking our engagement pictures this saturday...that should be fun! and then the next weekend justin (tyler's brother) talks in sacrament for his farewell! and then he leaves the next wednesday on the 21st of april! it's so crazy how fast time is flying by! good luck in hamburg, germany justin!!

BACK TO SCHOOL

Here I am....for another semester at Utah State University.

I moved out of Merrill Hall once fall semester got out, so I lived with my sister Caroylnn for a few weeks during winter break. Thanks to Tyler, I found a new town house to live in! I moved in last Friday. Ten girls live there, which I know sounds like a too many people in one apt, but fortunately it's big enough to hold us all :) It's been a lot of fun so far, but I definitely look forward to getting to know the girls better. My roommates name is Emilee and she is way fun and way cute! I finally finished putting all my stuff away last night and now feel completely moved in :) I'll post pictures of my room and town house later!! So cute.

During winter break I helped Tyler a little bit with "demo" on his house. He is in the middle of putting new laminate flooring in his kitchen, hallway and down the stairs. And maybe in the living room? I think he should ;) haha. I'll post pictures later of progress!

For christmas I got to go home for like five days so that was nice. It wasn't as long as most college kids got to go home, but that's okay :) I had to stay in Logan for most of the time to work. I'm still working at Select Satellite, and the hours are working out well with my new school schedule. I'm taking fifteen credits again this semester. Dress & Humanity, Business Law, Microeconomics, Marketing, and Accounting II. I'm sure it'll be a lot of work, but I'm just glad I'm done with Calculus!!

Me and Tyler are still dating :) We've been dating for 7 months last week. For Christmas he gave me the prettiest, silver, heart shaped locket. Hopefully this week we'll be going to get pictures put in it :) I love it and never take it off. I am completely heels over head in love with him and can't wait to spend more time together in 2010!

Anyways, just a little update! I'm not very good at keeping my blog up-to-date!

TACO BELL

Dear Taco Bell,

I love you.
You make my tummy happy.
Except for when I eat too much....
like today.

I hope that we always stay the best of friends.

Love Always,
Danielle Malloy

If Taco Bell could read I would give him this letter.

Today is a looong eight hour workday....
I had to open at 10:00 am and I have to close at 6:00 pm.
For lunch I went to TACO BELL!!!!!!

Around 1:30 pm I hung a sign on the store door that says,
"Gone to Lunch!! Be back Soon!!"
I hopped on my bicycle and rode just around the corner to the local taco shop :) ha!
Thinking I was starving, I ordered a soft shell taco, a hard shell taco and a chicken burrito.
I put the goods in my backpack and peddled as fast as I could back to the store.
Mmmmmm....it sure was delicious!!
Now, I have a small food baby, but it's not too big because I have to save the big ones for when Tyler's with me. Tyler likes it when I have a food baby. haha.

He also likes it when my Alien Jesus Baby is awake.
Is that sac-religious? yes, I believe that it is..... OOPS!!

My Alien Jesus Baby is sooo much fun though! He talks so loudly and rumbles my tummy!!

He comes alive the most when he's super hungry! Like when we're in line for TACO TUESDAY at CAFE RIO. YUMMMMMMMMM

bestie's p.h.o.t.o. shoooooot...

My senior year at BINGHAM HIGH SCHOOL was coming to an end.
...bittersweet-ness...

"We’ll always remember the blue and the white

And the faces so tender and dear.

We’ll always remember the stars in the night

That shine on our campus so clear.

We’ll always remember the laughs and the smiles

And the struggles and sorrows and tears.

But though we may travel o’er many strange miles

We’ll always remember in May and September

Bingham High as our happiest years. "

I definitely laughed and I definitely smiled.
While at Bingham High School I kept old friends and made the best new ones.

Struggles, sorrows and tears. Oh were there many. Friends can make your day wonderful, but boy can girls be nasty. My friends and I had our fair share of drama.
(struggles, sorrows and tears).
BUT we always worked it out, and we always came out STRONGER in the end.

As graduation crawled closer and closer, my best friends and I wanted to do something that would solidify our high school memories. Something we could keep forever. Close to our hearts.
We found an adorable woman. Annie West. We got all dolled up and she took us to downtown Salt Lake City. After hours of driving around, laughing, being SiLlY and taking ADORABLE pictures, I felt so wonderful!! Here I had three of my best-est friends in the world and we had just made memories that will last us a lifetime.

ROCHELLE
Rochelle is the strongest girl I know. No matter what crap is handed to her, she always finds a way to pull through. She has the most adorable, contagious and joyous laugh in this world. Rochelle has been my longest best friend I've ever had and I know it will stay that way FOREVER.
"Love Ya Like A Sis!"

CHRISTIE
Christie and I have sooooo much in common. I have always been able to relate to her on a level unlike any other. Christie and I can hang out for hours on end and never get sick of each other.
Christie is such a peacemaker. She has the amazing quality of thinking things through before she says anything. Christie couldn't hurt a fly if she tried. :)

DEVAN
Devan has the cutest smile of my life. She definitely lights up a room when she walks in. She has always been such an amazing example to me of kindness, compassion, forgiveness and righteousness. When I feel like my hope is gone, Devan has a way of making me feel like everything's going to be okay.

I am soooo blessed to have these girls as my BEST FRIENDS.

Some of my favorite pictures from the photo shoot...

Summer Decisions....

This summer has been one of the hardest, yet most exciting of my life! During the last couple months of high school I was presented with the opportunity to move to North Logan for the summer. My oldest sister Carolynn and her husband invited me to move into a room in their basement.

Pros:
I would get to spend more time with Carolynn and her family.
I would be living away from home for the first time.
I would get to spend more time with my older brother Darrell before he gets married on August 14th.
I would get to spend more time with Tyler.
I would get to spend the summer in beautiful Logan city.

Cons:

I would be without a car for the summer.
I would have to find a job.
I would be without my mom, dad and little sister Claire.
I would spend less time with Rachel's family and Kelly's family.
I would be paying ALL of my own bills.
I would be away from all of my AMAZING friends in South Jordan.

As you can see, there were definitely plenty of pros and cons to this huge decision. I stewed about it for months! I asked everyone I respected for their opinion...... I prayed and fasted about it multiple times.....I talked about it a lot with my mom and dad. And Carolynn. And my friends. Finally it hit me, either decision could be the right one. There was no right or wrong decision. I would be happy either way. After MUCH thought I finally decided to move to Logan city!

The last couple weeks of high school I packed up my room and moved only two days after graduation! I started my new job two days later at Select Satellite. Since I am without a car, I ride my handy-dandy bicycle to and from work everyday! Now that we're getting into late July it sure is getting quite toasty riding home from work at six o'clock in the afternoon! I definitely do my share of complaining, but regardless, I don't regret my decision to move to Logan for the summer.

Summer School.... Oh the joys of summer school. This is my third summer in a row!! Through Salt Lake Community Classes most classes are offered either over and eleven week period, or an eight week period. This summer I chose to do the eight week program. I started my three classes a week after graduation and I'll be done the first week in August!! Only two weeks left! Then I'll be done right in time for Darrell and Emily's wedding on August 14th! I can't wait for my three weeks of
PURE SUMMER!!
How summer is SUPPOSED to be!

Don't take me wrong, this summer has been wonderful. I've had lots of time to grow and strengthen relationships and I feel that I have grown as an individual as well. I've become more responsible and independent and I really feel like I'm ready for the college life!
